Women-Centric Laws in Workplaces

Recently, a petition for a law mandating menstrual leave was denied by the Supreme Court. The court said such a law will create problems and "no one will hire women". In this guest episode, we ask Anu Maria Francis, Senior Associate (Research and Project Management) at the Centre for Public Policy Research, if this argument by the highest court holds merit. We also look at similar laws such as maternal leaves, and analyse why it became counterproductive to women in the end. Anu also shares insights from her research work connecting gender, workplace, and labour laws.
